Devouring Vortex - Warlock Void 3.0 PvE Build

Updated: Dec 11, 2022

The Voidlock has been our favorite subclass to play since the beginning of Destiny and has only improved with Void 3.0. Mixing a solid lineup of exotic armors and weapons with the new aspects and fragments has created a great all-around class to play in any level of gameplay.

Devouring Vortex - Warlock Void 3.0 PvE Build

Our main objective in this build is to create a loop between draining and weakening enemies with Void Soul and defeating them, as this will regenerate our grenade and melee abilities while enemies are drained. After defeating drained enemies, our rift will regenerate. This will allow us to throw consistent Vortex grenades which will also weaken enemies caught in their radius and deal solid damage.

Defeating enemies with our grenades will grant us the Devour buff which allows us to regenerate full health on kills and continue to renew Devour. Because we have the Echo of Persistence active, Devour is also active for longer initially.

Rapid kills with kinetic and void weapons will produce Orbs of Power which we will use to become Charged with Light with our Taking Charge mod. Witherhoard is phenomenal at passively getting rapid kinetic kills and each of our other weapons will be void. After we are Charged with Light, we can throw our grenade and regain a portion of the ability back after consuming a Charged with Light stack from our Firepower mods.

This build leans heavy into grenade regeneration and allows us to lock down significant amounts of area with Vortex grenades and weakening effects while fully healing ourselves. Grenades are only just part of Devouring Vortex as we will be increasing the damage done with our weapons as well with the use of our High-Energy Fire mod. We will be able to deal a 20% increase in damage with our weapons after consuming a stack of Charged with Light. This pairs nicely with our void weapons as we are also using the Echo of Instability fragment which gives us Volatile Rounds after grenade kills and will cause enemies to explode. If we are using The Title with the perk Classy Contender, we will also be able to regenerate our rift on final blows in addition to having Volatile Rounds.

Finally, using void weapons with our Nezarec's Sin exotic helm helps us regenerate even more ability energy as every void-damage kill triggers Abyssal Extractors which further improves ability regeneration. The trouble we will run into with this build will be having enough Charged with Light stacks. However, because we are using our Nezarec's Sin helmet, we should be able to make up for ability regeneration we would gain from our Firepower mods by getting more void damage final blows.

Thanks for reading our Warlock Void 3.0 PvE Build - Devouring Vortex. We have a lot of fun testing and messing around with different weapons and exotics.
