Welcome to another build guide! This time we are focusing on Stasis PvE builds that emphasize glaive, bow, and Ager's Scepter usage.
The subclass 3.0 system all began with the Stasis subclass first introduced in Beyond Light. It was the first subclass to bring keywords associated with the effects of the subclass. Here they are:
Buff Keywords:
Stasis Crystal: A crystal of solidified Stasis matter. Upon creation, freezes nearby combatants and slows nearby players. Crystals can be destroyed, dealing damage in an area.
Stasis Shard: A small shard of Stasis matter that can be collected to restore melee energy.
Debuff Keywords:
Slow: The target has slowed movement, slowed ability regeneration, and reduced weapon performance. Slowed combatants have difficulty firing accurately. After accumulating enough Slow stacks, the target is frozen.
Freeze: The target is trapped in Stasis matter and is unable to move. After taking additional damage while frozen, the target shatters.
Shatter: When a frozen target is shattered, they take damage and deal damage in an area around them.
Wrathful Harvest
Our first Stasis warlock build is centered around the combination of Ager's Scepter and Osmiomancy Gloves.
Subclass: Shadebinder - Winter's Wrath
Class Ability: Healing Rift
Movement Ability: Burst Glide
Melee: Penumbral Blast
Grenade: Coldsnap Grenade
Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Glacial Harvest
Exotic Armor: Whisper of Fissures, Whisper of Bonds, Whisper of Chains, and Whisper of Conduction
Exotic Armor: Osmiomancy Gloves
Ideal Stats: 10 Resilience (Resilience is just too good to not max)
Exotic Weapon Choices: Ager's Scepter
Legendary Weapon Choices: Any Stasis power weapon, Zephyr with Unrelenting and the Cold Steel perk is fun to use, however is unobtainable until the next Dawning event
Mods: Harmonic Siphon x2, Bomber, Firepower x2, Elemental Charge, Elemental Ordnance, Elemental Shards
Objective:
I never was the biggest fan of the Winter's Wrath super. It has always just felt too disconnected when going between freezing and shattering enemies. However, synergizing Winter's Wrath with Ager's Scepter on top of Osmiomancy Gloves is one of the best ways to use the Shadebinder class for warlocks and allows us to avoid using the super all together while maximizing Stasis damage.
Our gameplay loop focuses on freezing enemies with our abilities and Ager's Scepter and then shattering them. Because we are using Glacial Harvest, any time that we freeze an enemy, we will cause multiple Stasis shards to spawn around them. These shards double as elemental wells thanks to our Elemental Shards mod and will also contribute to our melee ability energy when collected.
After freezing an enemy, our next goal will be to shatter them as after shattering, we will spawn seekers that will find nearby enemies to freeze. This is due to our aspect, Iceflare Bolts. We will also be able to freeze enemies with our Coldsnap grenades, which we have a second charge from our exotic gloves. The seekers spawned from our grenades will travel further and with direct enemy hits by our grenades, we will generate more grenade energy.
Our mods and aspects strengthen our freeze and shatter abilities making it so that we are able to deal large amounts of damage in a larger radius and clear ads with ease. This build really shines whenever we trigger Ager's catalyst ability, Will Given Form. It allows us to use our super energy to deal bonus Stasis damage while slowing and freezing targets caught in its beam.
Glacial Ordnance
Another build that uses Ager's Scepter and avoids the activation of our super will this time focus on Mantle of Battle Harmony and Font of Might. This build is very similar to Wrathful Harvest but uses Glacier grenades and Whisper of Shards instead of Bonds.
Subclass: Shadebinder - Winter's Wrath
Class Ability: Healing Rift
Movement Ability: Burst Glide
Melee: Penumbral Blast
Grenade: Glacier Grenade
Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Glacial Harvest
Fragments: Whisper of Fissures, Whisper of Shards, Whisper of Chains, and Whisper of Conduction
Exotic Armor: Mantle of Battle Harmony
Ideal Stats: 10 Resilience, 10 Discipline
Exotic Weapon Choices: Ager's Scepter
Legendary Weapon Choices: Zephyr with Unrelenting and Cold Steel, Palmyra-B with Chill Clip
Mods: Harmonic Siphon x2, Elemental Charge, Font of Might, Elemental Shards, Bomber, and Firepower x2
Objective:
Similar to how Wrathful Harvest's goal is to freeze everything, Glacial Ordnance wants the same but using a Glacier grenade. The key here is to shatter a couple of the Glacier grenade's Stasis crystals so that we can trigger a 10 second grenade regeneration boost with our Whisper of Shards (the additional Resilience is nice too). This wall of Stasis crystals acts like a Titan barrier and can freeze targets caught near it. We can continue to shatter one crystal at a time to increase our regeneration and hide behind the last couple until our next grenade is ready.
We again will be using Ager's Scepter as the Stasis damage and freezing ability come in handy when dealing with multiple ads or even Unstoppable champions. When we freeze a target, our Glacial Harvest aspect will create Stasis shards that we can use as elemental wells to trigger Font of Might and make us Charged with Light. This can also benefit us when we throw a Glacier grenade as we have will regain some grenade ability from our Firepower mods.
The final piece of the build is our exotic, Mantle of Battle Harmony. This allows us to increase the Stasis damage of Ager's Scepter and stacks with Font of Might which, when we collect a Stasis shard, amplifies our Stasis damage further.
Icy Caress
Next, we have a build focused on an exotic armor piece that got a nice synergy update with glaives, Karnstein Armlets. Melee kills with our glaives now activate the armor's exotic perk, Vampire's Caress.
Subclass: Shadebinder - Winter's Wrath
Class Ability: Healing Rift
Movement Ability: Burst Glide
Melee: Penumbral Blast
Grenade: Duskfield Grenade
Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Glacial Harvest (again)
Fragments: Whisper of Hedrons, Whisper of Chains, Whisper of Conduction, and Whisper of Rime
Exotic Armor: Karnstein Armlets
Ideal Stats: 10 Discipline then shoot for 6-7 Resilience and Recovery
Exotic Weapon Choices: Ager's Scepter works well here again, however not needed if Edge of Intent is preferred
Legendary Weapon Choices: The Enigma (for Psychohack origin trait) if you don't have or enjoy using Edge of Intent. Swords will work well due to close combat.
Mods: Harmonic Siphon x2, Melee Damage Resistance, Concussive Dampener, Healthy Finisher, Bomber, Firepower x2, Elemental Charge, Elemental Shards, and High-Energy Fire
Objective:
This build leans heavily into glaive melee kills. The focus will be freezing targets with our grenade or seekers from shattering frozen targets, then closing the gap and using our glaive melee until we need to escape. This may not be the most end-game friendly, however, it does well enough against champions in Legend Lost Sectors.
If we can pin our Duskfield grenade on a Barrier champ, we can actually melee through the shield and bypass any need to waste mod space on Anti-Barrier mods. This also works well with Unstoppable champions and can succeed with Overload champs, however Ager's Scepter comes in handy with killing nearby ads to freeze the Overload champ initially or have a seeker freeze the target. Basically, Overload mods are still your best option though.
We chose the Duskfield grenade as it has the shortest cooldown and if we have a target stuck inside its radius long enough, it will freeze multiple times. This will allow us to use our glaive melee to repeatedly damage the frozen target while hunkering down in one place. Whisper of Hedrons will buff our Resilience and Recovery after freezing a target helping us to max out our Discipline stat with mods and Resilience and Recovery after freezing targets.
The best piece of this build is the exotic perk, Vampire's Caress, because it now synergizes with glaive melee kills. This mean we will receive a bump in health and health regeneration with every glaive melee kill and combined with the Whisper of Rime and Chains, we will be reducing our damage while near frozen targets and gaining an overshield from each Stasis shard collected.
Dream-Ender
Our final build uses the Wish-Ender bow which just got a massive buff this season. It can now penetrate Barrier champion bubbles in one shot making them easy to deal with. Combined with High-Energy Fire and Whisper of Rending and we have ourselves a Stasis build (that doesn't use Ager's).
Subclass: Shadebinder - Winter's Wrath
Class Ability: Healing Rift
Movement Ability: Burst Glide
Melee: Penumbral Blast
Grenade: Coldsnap Grenade
Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Bleak Watcher
Fragments: Whisper of Hedrons, Whisper of Fissures, Whisper of Torment, and Whisper of Rending
Exotic Armor: Osmiomancy Gloves
Ideal Stats: 10 Discipline then shoot for 6-7 Resilience and Recovery
Exotic Weapon Choices: Wish-Ender
Legendary Weapon Choices: This won't matter as much this time
Mods: Kinetic Siphon, Sniper Damage Resistance, Innervation, Bomber x2, Empowered Finish, Taking Charge, High-Energy Fire, Charged Up, and Elemental Ordnance
Objective:
Wish-Ender is back and better than ever as it now synergizes beautifully with Whisper of Rending and High-Energy Fire, dealing massive damage to champions and ads alike! Our main goal is to keep at least one Bleak Watcher up at all times and as many Coldsnap seekers seeking enemies as possible. This will ensure that we will always have our Hedrons buff up for our Resilience and Recovery stats and give us plenty of targets to shatter with Wish-Ender.
Shatter damage of frozen targets is buffed with Whisper of Fissures and each shattered target sends seekers to find more victims to choose from. Our Bleak Watcher turret will be on the lookout for more enemies and provide us with easy targets to freeze and shatter. The cycle is pretty easy this time around as most of the hard work is being done by our turrets and seekers. All we have to do is shatter targets when they freeze and stay alive.
The real beauty of this build is the Wish-Ender. It is capable of pumping out some massive damage when combined with High-Energy Fire and Whisper of Rending. Killing a couple of targets back-to-back with Wish-Ender will spawn an Orb of Power, which will get us Charged with Light. This will buff our weapon damage and will synergize with Whisper of Rending, enhancing our kinetic weapon damage to frozen targets.
